Il existe un vaccin, mais il est encore trop rare pour être distribué dans cette Europe sinistrée, recouverte par un hiver sans fin... Le bourgmestre de la ville, membre de la confrérie des douze, obtient du N°1 l'envoi de 50.000 vaccins pour les Bruxellois, à une condition terrible : par les armes, empêcher les habitants de la ville de fuir, afin d'endiguer la contamination... Une équipe dirigée par Lenton et Boris quitte l'hospitalerie pour livrer les vaccins.
